SK Hynix raised US$26.5bn in its U.S. market debut — the largest foreign listing in American history — giving the AI-memory leader a deep dollar-denominated capital base at precisely the moment HBM demand is straining supply.

In the same stroke, the company committed US$8.6bn to acquire advanced EUV lithography systems from ASML, converting listing proceeds directly into the equipment that gates next-generation DRAM and HBM output.

The listing also reflects a structural shift: Korea's champions increasingly raise where AI capital concentrates. With Samsung and SK jointly reported to be investing ₩1,300tn over a decade at home, the dollar raise funds the global half of a two-track expansion.
