Agility Robotics, maker of the Digit humanoid, announced plans to go public through a SPAC merger — which would make it the first pure-play humanoid robotics company to trade on public markets.

Notably, the company's CEO is not promising a robot in your home anytime soon. Agility's near-term business is industrial: warehouse and logistics deployments where structured environments, repetitive tasks, and measurable labor economics make the ROI case tractable today.

A public listing gives the sector something it has lacked: a mark-to-market reference point. Private humanoid valuations — Apptronik above US$5.5bn, Neura around US$7bn — have had no public comparable to discipline them.
